This project was started off after I wanted to make an enamel pin, but after realizing that the lowest quantity to get it in bulk is around 50 units, and there was no real resource online showing how to make enamel pins, I decided to mess around and test to see whats the best DIY way to create a custom enamel pin in low quantities.
I plan on going more in depth once I make another enamel pin, but for now the best solution I found was to do a toner transfer(Exactly like how its done to make homemade PCBs), and use a salt water etching solution at 12 volts to slowly etch into the copper. This trick allows the etching to happen slow enough so the final product isn't too rough and doesn't lift the toner off of the copper.
